Who We Are
SpeedSketch is built and maintained by a small team of 1-2 developers based in the UK. We're not a venture-backed startup or a large company—just engineers who saw a problem and decided to solve it.
The problem was simple: making a whiteboard animation shouldn't require a £500/year software subscription or hiring an agency. We built a tool that does what we needed—upload an image, get an animation back—and made it free.
Why We Built This
The idea came from frustration. Creating a simple whiteboard animation for a presentation usually meant:
- Paying £150-500/year for professional tools like VideoScribe or Doodly
- Spending hours learning complex animation software
- Hiring a freelancer for £100+ per video
For a simple image-to-animation conversion, none of these options made sense. We wanted a tool that delivered the output without the overhead.
It turns out many others share this frustration—teachers, students, and small business owners who need to visualize their ideas but can't justify high costs or steep learning curves.
What SpeedSketch Does
1. Image to Animation (Free)
Upload any image—a diagram, illustration, or infographic—and SpeedSketch converts it into a hand-drawn whiteboard animation. No account and no watermark. Free exports are 720p, 30fps, and up to 15 seconds. 1080p, 4K, and longer videos are on PRO.
2. Text to Video (Subscription)
For more complex needs, SpeedSketch generates complete animated videos from text prompts. The AI creates visuals, generates voiceovers, and compiles everything into a finished video. This feature helps fund the project's development and hosting.
The Technical Side
SpeedSketch runs in the cloud. It traces edges and contours in your image, then generates a frame-by-frame drawing animation. Most image-to-video renders finish in under a minute.
Business Model
Image-to-video stays free. PRO plans and Text-to-Video pay for hosting and development. We do not sell your data. See our privacy policy for cookies, analytics, and ads.
Privacy
Uploaded images are processed and deleted within 24 hours. Account and payment details are handled by the providers listed in our privacy policy.
